Winter Playtime!

With the snow falling & the cold air, we are trying to find things for the kiddos to do to keep them busy and having fun! Miss Laney enjoys playing outside in the snow. Daddy took her sledding last weekend. She had a blast! She came running inside and said, "Mommy, I went fast! I laughed!" Her favorite thing to do in the snow is to make snow angels and snowballs to throw at Cassius & Brewski! As far as Max goes....he HATES the cold! I seriously think the cold air takes his breath away! He just makes squeeky noises when the wind blows. Poor guy!

This is where Max would rather be when it's cold outside (can you blame him?)! He started pulling himself up last week. I still think he's amazed when he does it! Too cute!

Laney's favorite thing to do inside right now is puzzles. She has graduated to jigsaw puzzles now and just loves them! She's actually really good at doing them by herself!

9 Month Check-Up

Max had his 9 month check up this week with Dr Kleber! He is a growing boy!!
Here are the stats:
Weight: 19 lbs, 6 oz (25%)
Height: 29 inches (75%)
Head: 17 (4%) tiny little head!
Of course, we wanted to get Laney's baby book out and compare what her weight/height was at 9 months. Miss Laney (at 9 months) was 17 lbs and 27 inches! So then we wondered when she hit 19 lbs. Needless to say, she was 19 lbs on the dot and exactly 29 inches at.....15 months! I think it's safe to say Max will be passing Laney up in no time!!

A New Purchase!

Finally....after searching online and talking to different dealerships, we found our car!! I have been driving a camry forever, it seems (almost 8 years to be exact!). After having Laney, I thought, "Hey, this isn't too bad! I still have plenty of room!" Well, then Mr. Max came along and then it was a different story! When you have to tote around a double stroller, 2 carseats, a diaper bag, a bag of "snacks" for Laney (and a few things to keep her occupied!), my purse, 2 kids, & 2 adults in a Camry, things get a little snug! We absolutely love our new ride....

It has all the bells and whistles that we wanted! We couldn't be happier with our purchase! Now, we just need to go on vacation and drive it somewhere! Some where WARM!!

9 Months

Happy 9 Months, Max!! I feel like I just blogged his "8 month" picture. How time flies! Our little man is so sweet...so happy....and so loved! He is really enjoying playing with all of his new toys he got for Christmas. It seems that his favorite types of toys are either blocks or puzzles.
Max has just started crawling (about time, Buddy!). At first, he was using rolling as a form of transportation. Then, he started the good ol' "army crawl" to get from point A to point B. NOW...he is officially crawling! YAY! (maybe!?!) Now it starts getting even more fun (and crazy!) at our house! At 9 months old Max is:
  • waving bye bye & clapping
  • crawling
  • starting to pull up on things, but still doesn't have the strength to do it (give him a couple weeks)
  • a GREAT eater! He is eating one container of baby food at lunch and 2 at dinner. Plus 4 bottles during the day (6-7 oz each). We've started giving him some finger foods to try out. He loves bananas, Gerber puffs, & Baby Mum Mums...sounds yummy, huh??
  • Sleeps 12 hours at night and takes 2 naps during the day (1 1/2 -2 1/2 hour naps)
  • Loves playing with Laney and their toys

Our little guy is so special to all of us! Laney just loves playing with him. If we put him down for a nap and she isn't paying attention to what we're doing, she'll look around the room a few minutes after he's gone and ask, "Where's Max?" They play so well together!

KaLightoscope & Gingerbread Village

This year, Louisville was fortunate enough to hold the first annual KaLightoscope Christmas! My mom and I took the kids down there the week between Christmas and New Years and it was awesome! We are hoping to do it again next year! We were told that Louisville will have it for the next 2 (maybe 3...can't remember!) years. It was at the Galt House, which is a beautiful hotel. Just seeing all of the Christmas decorations in the hotel was worth it, but then....we got to see.......
Gingerbread Village!

My favorite things here were the amazing chocolate reindeer, the jellybean sidewalk, & the lollipop tree! Just amazing!!

We also got to visit the beautiful light show. I can't imagine the amount of work that it takes to set up and tear these down!

Standing in front of the doll. It just shows you how BIG these things really are!

In the train!

Mom & Laney standing on the drum!

Way up there on the drum!

He was loving all of the lights!

Such a HAPPY boy!
