Max's One Week Update

Well, we've made it through our first week with a newborn and a 2 year old. And I'm happy to say, it went really well! Laney is really adjusting to having Max around. I've caught her a few times talking to him, covering him with a blanket, or putting a pacifier in his mouth. It's so sweet seeing her with him. Max is doing great at night. He is going about every 2 1/2 hours during the day between feedings and every 4 hours at night. Laney is also doing well. We were worried that she would wake up in the middle of the night when he did, but so far, so good! Happy snoozing in our household!
Max had his 1 week check up with Dr Kleber and it went really well. He weighs 8 lbs, 1 oz and is 21 inches long. Dr Kleber was happy with his weight. As we all know, babies lose weight in the hospital, but she hopes he is back up to his birth weight by 2 weeks old. She doesn't think that will be a problem.

Introducing Max....

Here are just a few of the pictures that we took of our little man on his birthday!

I should think of a new nickname for him...little man just doesn't cut it, but it's what I called him for 9 months, so we'll keep it!

So happy to finally meet him!

MAX IS HERE!

We are all so excited to announce Max Charles Reinhart is finally here!! After nine LONG months of waiting, the little man decided to arrive early. Of course, Mom was completely fine with that! I'm still in the hospital and figured I would update the blog, but unfortunately, I cannot post pictures since my camera doesn't connect to the laptop. Pictures are coming soon....

It all started on Friday evening. I started having mild contraction around 6:30ish. They just weren't really consistant...ranging from 3-6 min apart. I debated on going to the hospital for a couple hours, but finally decided around 10 to head up there.

Once we arrived at the hospital, I was dialated 4.5 cm. The nurse hooked me up to monitor the contractions and to see how I was progressing. An hour later she checked me again, and I was dialated a 5. I was really hoping they wouldn't send me home. I wasn't in any pain, just uncomfortable. Dr Perry arrived at 11:45 and broke my water. I was planning on getting an epidural, but didn't want to get one too early. I told the nurse to hold off calling for the epidural until she checked me again. However, the pain started getting more intense, so I ended up getting one at 1:45 am. She checked me again at 2 and I was dialated a 9.5....no wonder I was in pain! Dr Perry came into the room and two pushes later, Max was there!

We were all surprised to see how big Max was....8 lbs, 10 oz and 21 inches long! He has a good amount of brown hair, nothing like Laney's when she was born, but that's pretty hard to compete with. Max is perfectly healthy and both of us are doing great!

We are hoping to go home tomorrow morning. Once I get home and get the pictures uploaded, I will post some for everyone to see, so stay tuned!

38 Week Appointment

I had my 38 week appointment today...everything went great! I was dialated a good 3, but not quite a 4 and 75% effaced. It's just the waiting game now! I go back on Monday to see Dr Perry, unless I've had him by then. They went ahead and scheduled me for an induction on Wednesday, April 14. I would prefer to go on my own, but at the same time, am totally over being pregnant. This is my last week of work and I have been working LONG days and have been on my feet a lot lately. I officially have "cankles!"

Happy Easter!

We have had such a fun filled Easter weekend! There were so many pictures we wanted to share, but figured we should just pick a few from each celebration! Laney absolutely loved Easter this year! She was really into coloring Easter eggs and hunting them! The Easter baskets that she received were a big hit! Thank you Easter Bunny for everything!

This was last Sunday after church (Palm Sunday). Laney enjoyed the Parade of Palms at church and liked waving her palm around the house....and chasing Cassius with it!
Excited about coloring eggs!

She was so upset when we were done with the eggs

One of the many egg hunts she did...this was at Mamaw Dee & Papaw Joe's house

37 Week Appointment

I just had my 37 week appointment...dialated 3 cm and 75% effaced. Everyone is anxious for Max to get here! When I asked Laney who was coming over to play today, she said it was Max! Huh....interesting! Actually, Pa was the one coming over to take her to the farm to play while I had my dr appointment. Who knows, maybe Miss Laney knows something we don't! We are all taking guesses on when the little guy will arrive!!
