Laney got to meet her preschool teacher, Mrs. Southerland, yesterday! She is so excited about starting preschool. Her first day is Friday, September 10. She will be going to Zion Lutheran Preschool and is in the 2 year old class. Zion just started offering a preschool class for 2 year olds. It meets one morning a week, from 8:15 to 11. They will be learning a little about Jesus and the Bible, working on motor skills (jumping, running, etc), doing craft time, snack time, & story/music time. Mrs. Southerland seemed like a very nice lady and will do excellent with that age group. The main reason we enrolled Laney in preschool at the age of 2 is because she doesn't go to a daycare during the week. If she was one that went to daycare instead of having her grandma's babysit, that would be a different story. We both think it'll be good for her to learn to listen to someone else, rather than Mommy, Daddy, Grandma, Grandpa, etc and learn how to play and share with other kids her age. After meeting with the teacher and seeing her classroom, we took a trip to Greenwood to shop. When I pulled in the Target parking lot, Laney started whining, "No go to Target! Inna (I wanna) go to skul (school)!" Let's hope she keeps that enthusiasm! Stay tuned to find out how the "first day" goes....

YUM YUM!
Max had his first taste of rice cereal about 2 weeks ago. He is doing pretty well with it. It took him a few days to figure out that he was supposed to swallow it, not spit it back out.
Laney enjoyed watching Max eat. She asked if he could eat Trix like her! And, of course, she wanted a bite of his cereal. I figured she wouldn't care for it so I let her try it. That backfired! Come to find out, she liked it! Amazing that a little girl can be so picky with her food at times, but yet like that stuff!

4 Months Old
Really? Four months already? We seriously can't believe it! I took him to his appointment today and he did great...showed off all of his tricks he's learning! He is really starting to stand well when we hold him up. He's rolled over a few times, but is just really content laying him how we lay him, so he doesn't try to do it much! Of course, Laney wants him to do it (probably so we stop giving him so much attention to try to get him to do it), so she'll just roll him over for her and say, "He did it!" She's a great big sister to him!
OK, here are the stats....
Weight: 13 lbs 15 oz (25-50%)
Height: 26 inches (85%)
Head: 15 1/2 inches (3%) Yeah, my kids have tiny heads!
Dr Kleber said when she saw his graph for his stats, she pulled Laney's chart to compare. Laney did the exact same thing between 2 and 3 months....didn't grow much. Max only gained 4 oz this month and 1/2 inch in length and his little head didn't grow at all. Hopefully next month he will grow a little more!
As far as how Max is doing, he's doing wonderful! He is sleeping about 11-11 1/2 hours at night. I put him down at 8ish and he sleeps until 7:30am. Sometimes I even have to wake him up in the morning to feed him. His naps during the day are usually between 2 and 2 1/2 hours in the morning and about 1 1/2 hrs in the afternoon.
We will be starting him on cereal here soon, so stay tuned to some funny pictures!

Visit to the Indy Zoo
This past weekend, we took the kiddos to the zoo with the Bruce family! Laney loved the zoo last year, so we knew she would enjoy it even more this year! She had so much fun riding in the wagon with Charlo. She thought she was "big stuff" riding on daddy's shoulders for some of the visit! Max and Betsy got to hang out in the stroller. They both did so well....next year, they will enjoy more!

Fun With Family
We had such a great time visiting with our family from Florida these past few days. It was a short and quick trip, but definitely better than no trip at all! Aunt Diane, Bobby, Anna, & Ashe came to visit Wednesday-Saturday. It was everyone's first time to meet Max and Bobby's first time to meet Laney, too! Last time we saw Bobby, I was pregnant with little Laney! Crazy how fast time flies. While everyone was visiting, we had a little birthday party for Ashe, who turns 3 on August 10. He is such a sweet little boy! He and Laney had so much fun together. I really hope we can get these two together more often!
